Army’s Top Brass Vows to Stop ‘Externally-Sponsored Terrorists’ from Destroying National Peace: ISPR

The armed forces of Pakistan have made a solemn commitment to uphold the nation’s peace against the threat of externally-sponsored terrorism. This declaration came in response to a tragic incident where a bomb attack targeted a school bus near Zero Point in Khuzdar, resulting in the loss of lives and injuries, predominantly among students. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) shared that this pledge was made during the 270th Corps Commander Conference at the General Headquarters, led by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir.

During the conference, a thorough assessment of the current internal and external security landscape was conducted, with a specific focus on the successful culmination of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos. The ISPR highlighted that India, having faced setbacks in previous encounters, was resorting to covert tactics and supporting non-state actors to further its destabilization agenda in the region. The forum unequivocally stated that Pakistan would not allow its peace to be jeopardized by such external interference and vowed to dismantle and eliminate all elements fostering terrorism with unwavering determination.

Moreover, discussions at the conference delved into the situation in India-occupied Kashmir and along the India-Pakistan border, expressing deep concerns over human rights violations perpetrated by Indian forces against Kashmiris. The need for international attention and intervention to maintain peace and security in South Asia was emphasized, alongside unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.

The gathering also paid tribute to the martyrs of recent conflicts and acknowledged the vital contributions of the youth and media in upholding the nation’s interests. The Prime Minister’s Office attributed the Khuzdar attack to state-sponsored proxies of India, denouncing such acts of terrorism aimed at destabilizing Pakistan. The country has witnessed a rise in terrorist activities, particularly in regions like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, following the breakdown of a ceasefire with the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan.

In a significant development, Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir was promoted to the prestigious rank of field marshal in recognition of his leadership during Operation Bunyanum Marsoos and conflicts with India. This rare honor, bestowed upon a select few in Pakistan’s military history, symbolizes exceptional leadership and wartime achievements. President Asif Ali Zardari presented the baton of field marshal to Munir, lauding his exemplary service and dedication to the nation.

The ceremony marking Munir’s promotion was a moment of national pride, with dignitaries praising his strategic acumen and courage in safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty. The Prime Minister commended Munir for his resolute command and successful defense of the nation against external aggression. President Zardari echoed these sentiments, honoring Munir’s wisdom and commitment to leadership during challenging times.

In conclusion, the elevation of Asim Munir to the rank of field marshal not only recognizes his individual accomplishments but also symbolizes the resilience and strength of Pakistan’s armed forces. It stands as a testament to the unwavering commitment to protecting the nation’s interests and maintaining peace in the face of external threats.
